A group of activists vandalized one of President Donald Trump’s golf courses Sunday morning because of the president’s “blatant disregard” for the environment.

The group of anonymous demonstrators sneaked into the Trump National Gold Club in California and etched a seemingly incoherent message into one of the course’s greens. Golf Digest ranked the 18-hole, 7,300-yard course the 43rd best course in California.

They claimed their message — “No More Tigers, No More Woods” — was directed at the Trump administration’s supposed environmental transgressions. The group used various landscaping equipment to scratch the 6-foot-tall letters into the 5th hole of the course.

“In response to the president’s recent decision to gut our existing protection policies, direct action was conceived and executed on the green of his California golf course in the form of a simple message: NO MORE TIGERS. NO MORE WOODS,” the perpetrators wrote in a press statement.

“Tearing up the golf course felt justified in many ways,” one of the vandals told The Washington Post Sunday.

“Repurposing what was once a beautiful stretch of land into a playground for the privileged is an environmental crime in its own right,” the activist added, on the condition of anonymity.

Vandals have targeted Trump properties in the past: activists spray-painted the words “Black Lives Matter” onto the president’s Washington hotel during an October demonstration.
