MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow said that she has “Trump tax returns,” in a tweet just hours before her Tuesday night program.

Maddow followed that tweet with a second tweet, saying that she has the president’s personal income tax information from 2005.

The left-leaning cable television host has focused on connections between President Donald Trump and the Russian Federation is recent weeks. Questions regarding the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia have dominated cable news programs.
President Trump has broken with tradition by refusing to release his tax returns, something every president has done since Richard Nixon.
It is notable that Maddow said “We’ve got Trump tax returns,” rather than stating “We’ve got Trump’s tax returns.”
