Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California spoke at an anti-Trump fundraiser in Palm Beach Saturday, as President Donald Trump visited Mar-A-Lago, according to a Monday report from the Palm Beach Post.

Schiff serves as the ranking Democrat with the House Committee on Intelligence, and is a very vocal critic of the Trump administration. Schiff’s committee is in the middle of investigating the allegations that Russia influenced the results of the 2016 presidential election, and interviewed FBI Director James Comey Monday.

“They could not have devised, if they brought their best scientists together, a president of the United States who would play more into the Russian story,” Schiff said about the investigation.

“You couldn’t have written a better line in Moscow. That’s the whole Moscow narrative.”

“I know the president comes down here a lot and it’s a pain,” Schiff continued.

“It increases traffic, that poor little (Lantana) airport that you have to close down. It makes a real nuisance. But I want to tell you how much I appreciate that Trump comes down here and plays golf. I would much rather have Donald Trump playing golf than in the White House.”

The fundraiser raised between $15,000 and $20,000, according to Palm Beach County Democratic Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo’s report on the event.

Both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were in Palm Beach over the weekend, and Pence spoke at the Breakers resort at a Club For Growth-sponsored event.
