Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is following President Donald Trump’s official government-sponsored Twitter account, presumably to keep up with news related to his presidency.

It is not exactly clear when Clinton started following the newly transitioned @POTUS Twitter account, but one user was given an unsolicited notification Sunday asking if she would “Join @HillaryClinton in following @POTUS.”

While HillaryClinton may have chosen to formally “follow” Trump’s non-personal Twitter account some time before Sunday, the timing of the notification makes it likely that she chose to do so very recently.

Such a decision doesn’t come as a surprise, since Clinton signaled in late December that she was not ready to leave the political arena, even after losing the 2016 presidential election. (RELATED: Obama Mocks Trump, Says If He Can’t Handle Twitter, He Can’t Handle Nuclear Codes)

Trump’s two Twitter accounts, both his personal one he’s used for years (@realDonaldTrump) and the one provided by the government (@POTUS), has recently been a point of contention. Some argue that the latter account is likely controlled by aides to the president, due to its generally positive and cordial tone, while contending the former is certainly controlled by Trump, because of its more heated, acrimonious tone. Evident lack of restraint was also noted in observer assessments of the former account. (RELATED: Twitter Doesn’t Rule Out Banning Trump If He Gets Too Unruly)

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey felt compelled to apologize in January for mistakenly forcing around 560,000 users to follow Trump on Twitter.

Dorsey blamed it on technical problems stemming from the transfer of the official @POTUS account from former President Barack Obama to Trump.
