No matter your political persuasion, we can all agree on one thing: Alec Baldwin’s impression of Donald Trump simply isn’t very good. Once the novelty wore off — “Hey, that’s Alec Baldwin” — everybody started to notice that he doesn’t really sound anything like Trump and looks more like a fat Lloyd Bridges. It’s fun to hate Trump, but that’s no substitute for getting the impression right.
I’ve always thought Anthony Atamanuik’s Trump impression was far superior, and Comedy Central agrees. They’re giving him a show later this month, and here’s the first trailer:
It’s cool that Comedy Central is finding the humor in presidential politics again, after a mysterious 8-year drought. I can’t wait to not watch it!
P.S. Speaking of Comedy Central, Review with Forrest MacNeil was great. Apparently the ratings were terrible, but last week CC let them close out the show in perfect form. One of my favorite shows ever. Highly recommended.
