A rogue deer in Canada violently barreled into a 25-year-old man on April 1, knocking him off of his feet and onto the pavement.
“As I was turning my brain couldn’t process what was coming at me,” Cary McCook of British Columbia told Global News. “And by the time I knew it, [I had] already had gotten hit by ‘Bambi’ that was being chased by a dog.”

McCook is hit by the animal immediately after getting out of the car, leaving him no time to react.
After McCook gets to his feet, he looks back at the vehicle, likely to see if the driver saw the crazy encounter with “Bambi.”
Towards the end of the video, a dog is seen running in front of the truck, which is likely why the deer was so determined in his escape route.
The majority of McCook’s family and friends did not believe the incident after he told them, since the brutal collision occurred on April Fools Day.
That was until McCook traveled back to the hotel and got permission to record and share the footage.
“Then I put the video on Facebook and it automatically took off going viral,” he said, according to Global News. The video has been viewed more than 34,000 times at the time of publication.
McCook has already taken advantage of the newfound fame. His official profile picture shows him wearing a shirt that says “I’m the Rapper Who got hit By a DEER!” alluding to his membership of a hip hop group called “Reka NatioN.”
McCook, who was uninjured from the deer’s barreling crash, aside from a sore shoulder, says he finds it more hilarious every time he watches the video (the same probably goes for the average viewer).
“I haven’t experienced or seen anything like this in my 25 years in the wilderness and for me to get out of the woods and into a urban area and for that to happen, not only shocked me, but made me realize anything good can happen on any given moment,” McCook said, according to Global News.
A deer aggressively rammed into a cross country runner in November during a race in the countryside of Pennsylvania. The competitor was reportedly able to continue the race, but was very bruised up from the impact.
While both of these incidences of deer-to-human contact appear accidental, another quadruped in New Jersey literally fought a driver after the wild animal was struck by her vehicle. This episode was also caught on camera in September since a police officer was trailing the woman who ultimately had to brawl with the deer from the driver’s seat.
