CNN’s latest hires have been plucked from the right side of Washington’s media pool.

They are Business Insider‘s Politics Editor Oliver Darcy and Josiah Ryan. Both men previously worked together for Glenn Beck at TheBlaze, a right-leaning pub where Darcy was deputy managing editor and Ryan was creator of social video strategy.

Asked to comment on his new job, Darcy already sounds a lot like his new coworker Wolf Blitzer. He told The Mirror, “I’m very excited to join CNN and grateful for the opportunity to work with the best media team in the business. I will have to get back to you on how it will change my life!”

In recent weeks, Darcy has set his gaze on insidery IJR and  Breitbart stories.

Darcy has worked for Business Insider for nearly a year. He’ll be joining Brian Stelter and his media team at CNN. He and Ryan worked at TheBlaze before Beck went on the campaign trail for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), forgot he had a newsroom and the online pub went to shit. Most recently, he fired Tomi Lahren for speaking her mind on abortion on ABC’s “The View.” She’s now suing him.

A political reporter remarked to The Mirror, “Detail the internal gossip of conservative news outlets, and you too can land a job at CNN.”

It’s hard to say if this is step up for Darcy.

CNN may be a bigger pond than Business Insider. But perception can be tricky. When CNN media reporter Dylan Byers was at Politico — he was his own man.

He still does good work, of course.

In the ways that matter, he is the lead media reporter.

But now he’s Stelter’s bitch.

Let’s hope the same doesn’t become of Darcy, whose stories have been gaining a lot of traction in recent months.
