A South Korean woman was arrested recently for stealing jewelry, but the details of the heist are a little abnormal.

Police in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province brought in a 20-year-old woman for stealing gold bracelets and hiding them in her buttocks at a jewelry shop, reports Yonhap News Agency, citing reports from the Heungdeok Police Station.

The woman entered the shop with her 21-year-old friend, who distracted the shop owner while the  first woman stuffed jewelry into her pants. The owner discovered that two bracelets worth $856 were missing and reviewed the CCTV footage, which showed the woman stealing the goods.

The woman initially denied stealing the bracelets, saying that she was wearing leggings and had nowhere to hide the stolen goods; however, when the police conducted a strip search, they discovered that the jewelry was hidden inside the woman’s butt.

She confessed to stealing the bracelets, but she blamed the theft on her tendency to steal things whenever she is on her period.

Yonhap did not reveal whether the jewelry store will be selling the recovered butt bracelets.
