I don’t think I could ever be a police officer. The things those brave men and women have seen and endured in the line of duty. But nothing could prepare even the most cynical, streetwise LEO for something like this.
Police at the University of Texas at Dallas say they’re searching for the person who dumped several copies of the Quran in campus toilets.
They call the incident “shocking” and “unusual.”
If anything, that’s an understatement. Watch for yourself, if you don’t think you’ll be triggered:
I mean, look at that. It’s a Koran. In a toilet. Who could even imagine such a thing?
As always, my condolences go out to Muslims everywhere. I’m sorry this has happened to you. After something like this, I can’t imagine what it’s like to pick up the shattered pieces of your life. Nothing will ever be the same again.
Now, just because a lot of these hate crimes turn out to be hoaxes intended to raise awareness of Islamophobia, that doesn’t necessarily mean this one is. It’s entirely possible that somebody at that university genuinely hates Islam so much that he (or she, but probably he) threw the religion’s holiest book into the place where the doodie goes. That’s wrong, and people shouldn’t do that.
It’s definitely a matter for the police, because apparently there are no other problems for them to deal with in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Hang in there, Muslims. Oh, and sorry in advance for the impending backlash after the next Islamic terror attack. Just because it never happens doesn’t mean you should stop predicting it.
