Donald Trump attended an Easter church service Sunday at Bethesda-by-the-Sea, an Episcopal church near his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach where he and Melania Trump were married in 2005.

He was there with his wife and his two youngest children, Tiffany and Barron Trump, before returning to Mar-a-Lago for brunch and an easter egg hunt.

However, people who were reading Matt McDermott’s Twitter feed were under the impression that Trump didn’t attend any church services, even though multiple outlets reported on his activity.

“The Obama’s spent every Easter attending church service,” McDermott tweeted in the wee hours of Sunday morning. “Trump hasn’t attended church once since his inauguration. Where’s the GOP outrage?”

Though the tweet was false, more than 32,000 people retweeted the message and another 65,000 favorited it. It had not been deleted as of Monday.

McDermott, a senior analyst at Whitman Insight Strategies who lives in New York, regularly criticizes the president and his administration on Twitter.
