Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and FBI Director James Comey had a dust-up during Comey’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, with Grassley becoming so frustrated he could only say, “Egad.”
Grassley probed Comey on why it is possible for people who request records through the Freedom of Information Act to have easier access to information than members of government oversight committees.
“I don’t think I can distinguish the statements made in the FOIA case as I sit here,” Comey said, opting out of answering the question.

Grassley became visibly agitated, and instead posed the question as a hypothetical.
“If I, Chuck Grassley as a private citizen, file a Freedom of Information Act and you give me more information than you give to Senator Chuck Grassley, how do you justify that?” he demanded.
“Yeah it’s a good question,” Comey said defeatedly.
“What do you mean it’s a good question?” Grassley exploded. “Egad.”
