Trump confidante Roger Stone has said the Clintons are connected to dozens of murders, but he told The Daily Caller what former FBI Director James Comey did to Hillary was “disgraceful” and he deserved to be fired.

“What Comey did to Hillary was disgraceful. I’m glad Trump fired him over it,” Stone told TheDC over text message.

President Trump fired Comey Tuesday and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said in a letter that he couldn’t defend Comey’s handling of the Clinton private server investigation.

“The Director was wrong to usurp the Attorney General’s authority on July 5, 2016, and announce his conclusion that the case should be closed without prosecution. It is not the function of the Director to make such an announcement,” the deputy attorney general said in a letter entitled, “Restoring public confidence in the FBI.”

Democrats have previously heavily criticized Comey for his handling of the Clinton investigation. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said in November that he no longer has “confidence in” Comey.

Stone, however, has not been one to defend the Clinton’s honor in the past. In August, the Trump ally tweeted, “Four more dead bodies in the Clinton’s wake. Coincidence? I think not.”

In his book, “The Clintons’ War on Women,” Stone wrote: “There are widespread claims that the Clintons are responsible for the death of as many as eighty-three people whose knowledge stood in the way of their political ascent. Based on our investigation, the Clintons are only plausibly responsible for the deaths of half the people on this list.”

The New York Times has reported that Stone is under FBI scrutiny in its investigation of alleged Russian election interference.
