Russian President Vladimir Putin shrugged off news of FBI Director James Comey’s firing Wednesday in a brief interview with CBSNews.

Putin appeared in a hockey uniform alongside his spokesman Dmitry Peskov who told CBSNews the firing would have “no effect” on U.S.-Russian relations. “We have nothing to do with that,” Putin continued through his spokesman.
Putin’s nonchalant response follows Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov feigning ignorance at the firing in a joint appearance with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Wednesday. “You are kidding,” Lavrov joked after hearing a question about Comey’s firing.
