How Do I Protect My Rights?
In our current political climate, there is new gun legislation that appears on a regular basis. Like many gun owners you may be getting frustrated with the continuous changes and infringements on your rights. That is why one of our primary goals is to ensure that our clients and associates are up to speed on both current and upcoming gun laws. You might even be asking the question “What can I do to protect my rights?” Today, we want to suggest ways to protect your rights as a gun-owning citizen.
Step 1: Education
It is important that you have knowledge of all the latest resources available today. Make sure that you’re familiar with all your state’s current gun laws. The National Rifle Association has a great resource to find the latest on gun legislation that affects you and your family. Check it out here.
The second option is to pay attention to ongoing changes regarding the gun laws in your state. NRA-ILA is a great place to start. They are always current on what is happening on a day to day basis.
Step 2: Action
Get involved with your local legislation and share your voice. You may also want to start taking people to the range who have never been. It will give you an opportunity to teach others about firearms and the shooting sports.
Step 3: Research
Take time and research ways to be a responsible gun owner. That might be picking out a new firearm, or making sure you have the firearm-related insurance you need should your guns be damaged, lost or stolen.
These are just a few steps that can help you protect your rights as a gun owner. Get involved in ways that work for you. For more resources, just like this one, check out other blog posts here.
