House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is calling for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to testify on the administration’s decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey.

Pelosi noted Rosenstein is slated to brief the Senate on Comey’s termination Thursday, according to a letter sent to House Speaker Paul Ryan Monday.

“This week, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to brief the full Senate on his knowledge of and his role in the firing of the FBI Director,” she wrote. “Director Comey has also been invited to testify before the Senate, but not before the House.”

Pelosi said she hoped Ryan would follow Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s lead, advocating him to invite Rosenstein to brief the lower chamber.

“I hope that you will insist that Rosenstein brief and answer questions from the full House,” she continued. “I hope you will also insist that Director Comey be accountable to the House as well as the Senate in his presentation.”

Rosenstein’s name gained traction in the media after the White House cited a letter written by the deputy AG detailing the Department of Justice’s reasoning for suggesting Comey’s firing.

Comey has suggested he’d be willing to testify publicly, despite having rejected the Senate Intelligence Committee’s invitation to brief lawmakers at a closed-door hearing, The New York Times reports.
