Chance the Rapper attacked President Donald Trump for apparently not knowing anything about Chicago’s problems Thursday.

During his appearance on “The View,” the 24-year-old rapper — who has been very outspoken about his hometown’s problems with education and gun violence — said Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about when he said last year that residents should give the Republicans a chance after years of the Democrats taking their votes for granted.  (RELATED: Chance The Rapper To Meet With Illinois Governor)

“It’s a result of a lot of things,” the rapper said when asked why the city saw a 58 percent increase in gun violence in 2016. “We have an underfunded public school system. We have over policed neighborhoods. Terrible relations between the communities and the officers.”

“I think years of being underappreciated and underserved as citizens of Chicago,” he added. “But I would say there’s a whole lot of reasons behind it.”

Joy Behar then asked him about Trump’s comments about going with new leadership to turn things around.

“I haven’t seen him in Chicago before,” Chance responded. “I don’t know what his relationship with Chicago is. I don’t know if he knows what he’s talking about.”

Later in the segment, the rapper answered if he would ever run for office.

“I mean, I guess I’ve thought about it… I would never do it though,” the rapper said. “Politics is the reason a lot of stuff doesn’t get done. There’s a lot of limitations.”
