Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave away $20 million this week to Women Deliver, an international aid organization that promotes abortion for third world women. Last Friday, the Trudeau government announced that “reproductive rights,” or abortion, would be the foundation of its foreign aid program.

Women Deliver is having their 2019 conference in Vancouver and in a private function attended by The Daily Caller on Tuesday afternoon, Trudeau was anxious to both finance the group and support its pro-abortion agenda.

He called Vancouver, “a forward-looking city and the ideal place for a gathering like the Women Deliver conference. The conference brings together more than 6,000 leaders, influencers, advocates and activists from more than 160 countries.”

Trudeau suggested the conference would provide a “perspective” to women who are “not always heard, especially indigenous people, young people, survivors of violence and conflict.”

Women Deliver president Katja Iverson, described as having a “contagious passion” by Trudeau, spoke to supporters in front of a statue dedicated to women’s rights on the  lawn of Ottawa’s Parliament Hill.

To loud laughter, she proclaimed that “women deliver more than babies,” a phenomenon that her organization seeks to curtail.

Iverson said she had “a challenge” for the women who gathered to meet Trudeau. “As we prepare for this great conference we need your help in so many ways, to make it more than a moment in time but also an inspiration.”

Earlier, Trudeau’s wife, Sophie Trudeau, also spoke to the gathering.  She called abortion “that most basic woman’s right,” and said, “Let this message of equality and justice and peace and unity resonate in our own families, in our own brothers and sisters, uncles and mothers, and fathers and friends and boyfriends. May that message resonate in our daily lives, because we are the carriers of that change.”

“When women fully participate in a society, society is healthier, economically, psychologically, spiritually — on so many levels.”
