Lena Dunham attacked dads on Father’s Day before deleting the tweet.

“You don’t need a father–so many families work so many ways–but if you have one he better werk,” the 31-year-old actress tweeted Sunday, according to the DailyWire. (RELATED: Lena Dunham Majorly Sucks Up To Ex-NYT Editor Jill Abramson)

The comment was condemned on Twitter by Donald Trump Jr. and Ben Shapiro.

“It never ends. Would be great to have just 1 day without the unnecessary SJW commentary. Doubt there was a similar comment on Mother’s Day,” Trump Jr. tweeted.

Dunham later defended the tweet by saying she loves men and “alternative families.”

“@AmandaPresto I love men, I love alternative families and the only thing I hate is people who can’t respect a diversity of family dynamics. Peace,” the “Girls” creator tweeted.

Earlier in the day, she also praised “moms who are being dads.”

“Happy joyous Sunday to all the dads showing us how it’s done and all the moms who are being dads RN,” Dunham tweeted.
