This week’s married teacher’s aide busted for allegedly traumatizing a male teen student with some sex romps is Lindsey Jarvis.
Jarvis, 27, was a teacher’s aide at — until just recently — Veterans Park Elementary School in Lexington, Kentucky. Previously, she had worked at Woodford County Middle School — just outside of Lexington.
The teen is under 16 but investigators are not disclosing his exact age, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader.
A grand jury indictment charges that Jarvis provided the teen with oral sex in May 2016 and had sex with him in June 2016.
Investigators say much of the evidence against Jarvis comes from phone records which indicate that romance budded between Jarvis and the unidentified male teen.
The investigation began several months ago.
“Investigations take a while,” police detective Steve Sparkman said, according to the Herald-Leader. “There are so many dots you have to connect before you can bring charges against a person.”
Police aren’t saying where the student allegedly met Jarvis or where he attends (or has attended) school.
The 27-year-old teacher worked at Veterans Park Elementary School since Aug. 30, 2016 prior to her resignation, which was on Friday.
“While we cannot comment on individual personnel issues, we can assure families and community members that we are aware of the matter,” school district spokeswoman Lisa Deffendall said, according to Louisville Fox affiliate WDRB.
“Our personnel protocols in a case like this would call for placing an employee on administrative leave pending resolution,” Deffendall also said.
Local police arrested Jarvis on Friday after she was indicted on a pair of third-degree rape and one count of third-degree sodomy.
There’s also a count of engaging in an unlawful transaction with a minor.
Jarvis has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
She appeared in court with an adult male. Some local reports say the male is unidentified. Other reports suggest the man is her husband of three years.
Jarvis previously posted bail after her arrest and was released.
A judge ordered her to have no contact with the male teen with whom she is accused of having sex romps.
