Night vision footage obtained by CNN from the Iraqi military shows a historic Mosque in Mosul get obliterated by an ISIS bombing.
The U.S. military responded to this act of radical islamic terrorism by continuing to warn ISIS about their attacks and saying that the group must be completely annihilated. Officials were clear that the U.S. will continue supporting Iraq in the battle for Mosul.
“As our Iraqi Security Force partners closed in on the al-Nuri mosque, ISIS destroyed one of Mosul and Iraq’s great treasures,” Major General Joseph Martin, commanding general of the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq and Syria, told ABC. “This is a crime against the people of Mosul and all of Iraq, and is an example of why this brutal organization must be annihilated.”

“The responsibility of this devastation is laid firmly at the doorstep of ISIS, and we continue to support our Iraqi partners as they bring these terrorists to justice,” Martin said. “However, the battle for the liberation of Mosul is not yet complete, and we remain focused on supporting the ISF with that objective in mind.”
