“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski criticized fat shaming Friday, right after saying that her own mother had suggested she get her excess chin skin fixed.

Joe Scarborough and Brzezinski released an op-ed in response to President Donald Trump’s Thursday tweets that claimed Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” at one of his parties.

The two denied that Brzezinski ever got a facelift, instead explaining that she had gotten the skin under chin “tweaked” at the suggestion of her mother.

“If she had, it would be evident to anyone watching ‘Morning Joe’ on their high-definition TV. She did have a little skin under her chin tweaked, but this was hardly a state secret. Her mother suggested she do so, and all those around her were aware of this mundane fact,” the two wrote in The Washington Post.

After the explanation that her mother had suggested she fix her appearance, the co-hosts then criticized Trump for “fat-shaming” Miss Universe.

“From his menstruation musings about Megyn Kelly, to his fat-shaming treatment of a former Miss Universe, to his braggadocio claims about grabbing women’s genitalia, the 45th president is setting the poorest of standards for our children,” Brzezinski and Scarborough said.
