President Donald Trump blasted what he characterized as the “fake and fraudulent news media” Saturday, asserting that his use of social media is not presidential, but “modern day presidential.”

The president defended his use of social media as some criticize his penchant to air his grievances via Twitter.

Trump made 106 campaign stops between Sept. 1 and Nov. 8, compared to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 70. From his announcement on June 16, 2015 through Election Day, he held 369 campaign rallies. (RELATED: Trump Doubles Down On Fight With Morning Joe)

The president also hit back at critics that say his use of Twitter is not “presidential.”

Trump shifted his focus away from an ongoing feud with MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, saying that he may have a new name for CNN.

CNN was in damage control mode this past week after the release of three videos from James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas. In the first video, CNN producer John Bonifeld is heard saying that Trump was “probably right” that the Trump-Russia story was a “witch hunt.” (RELATED: CNN’s Month Long Nightmare)

In the second video, CNN personality Van Jones admits that the Trump-Russia story was a “big nothingburger.” In the third video, CNN associate producer Jimmy Carr said that White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway “looks like she was hit with a shovel.”

The Daily Caller News Foundation Reached Out To CNN but did not hear back by press time. The president is attending a concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Saturday evening.
