Former Obama Speechwriter: Okay, So Mitt Was Right About Russia After All

I’d care a lot more about this Russia stuff right now if our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters had cared more about Russia over the past decade. They openly scoffed at the idea that Vladimir Putin isn’t a friend of America. They mocked Mitt Romney for recognizing Russia as a threat. They didn’t just ignore Russia; they gleefully shamed anybody who paid any attention to Russia. And it was all fine with them until they started losing elections. Then they wanted us to forget how they laughed at our warnings.

They wanted us to forget this:

But now, finally, we’re starting to get some grudging admissions from these guys. David Rutz, Washington Free Beacon:

Former Barack Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau admitted Democrats were wrong to criticize Mitt Romney’s 2012 assessment of Russia as “our No. 1 geopolitical foe” during an episode of the liberal podcast “Pod Save America” Thursday…

“Look, I’m willing to say that in 2012 when we all scoffed at Mitt for saying that, gee, Russia was our No. 1 geopolitical foe, think we were a little off there,” Favreau said, laughing.

Here’s the audio:

Ha ha ha! Isn’t that funny? Yeah, they’re complete hypocrites, those wacky cutups. Ell oh ell.

Recently, Hillary 2016 press secretary Brian Fallon and ambulatory forehead Paul Begala have also grudgingly admitted they were wrong about this. It’s not much, but it’s something. Baby steps, right?
