At least five people were injured Monday in a reported chainsaw attack in the Swiss city Schaffhausen.
A local shop owner told newspaper Blick that a man was walking the streets with a chainsaw, causing panic among pedestrians in the center of town. Police were alerted around 10:39 a.m. local time to what they describe as a “special situation.”
Authorities report that five people were injured in the attack, two of them seriously. Police confirmed that a chainsaw was involved in the attack. Authorities believes they have identified the attacker, who remains at large. Police do not believe the attack was sparked by a terror motive.
