Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back James Conner currently has the top-selling NFL jersey.

The NFL reported the news Tuesday night, and Conner tweeted out a photo of himself at the top of jersey rankings.

The most mind-boggling thing about this whole scenario is that Conner hasn’t played a single snap of professional football, and yet somehow managed to beat out more experienced professionals. Some notable athletes on the list right behind him include Tom Brady, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Marshawn Lynch.

I’m not sure I can get behind the idea of a third-round draft pick becoming the highest selling jersey in the NFL. It’s essentially sending the signal that you don’t actually have to do anything before you’re rewarded with jersey sales. How about getting out there and scoring a few touchdowns first? Perhaps get your first 20-yard rush before your jerseys fly off of the rack.

This is not a trend that should be celebrated. It should come to an end immediately.
