Cumulus Media has hired Vince Coglianese (rhymes with mayonnaise) to be co-host of “Mornings on the Mall.” The program airs weekdays from 5a.m. to 9 a.m.

Coglianese was most recently my direct boss. So I’m going to try not to badmouth him too much here.

But he’s not going away. The Daily Caller‘s former Editor-in-Chief will now be Editorial Director.

Bill Hess, a Veep at Cumulus, had positive things to say about Vince.

Vince is the perfect WMAL personality – knowledgeable, plugged-in, entertaining, and a strong storyteller,” he said in a release Thursday. “He and Mary had immediate chemistry and we’re excited to bring this fresh new sound to mornings on 105.9 FM and AM630 WMAL.”

In that same release, Vince remarked, “I am beyond honored to be joining such a prestigious station and its powerful audience. As a journalist and longtime WMAL listener, I know first-hand how essential it is to start my day with ‘Mornings On The Mall’. It’s a legendary show with an important mission – to engage, amuse, and inform Washington, DC. I’m pumped and grateful to sit behind the WMAL microphones alongside the fabulous Mary Walter.”

Which brings us to the big newsroom shakeup.

Beginning Monday, Geoffrey Ingersoll will take the helm as Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Caller. “Since the start of 2015, Geoff has been integral to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s expansion and success, serving as its Managing Editor. Ingersoll’s natural leadership talents stem from his experience at Business Insider, as well as his service in the United States Marine Corps.”

(Yeah, you read that right. My new editor is an ex-Marine. So I probably shouldn’t piss him off.)

“He’s super smart, super industrious, but definitely a hard ass,” an anonymous insider told The Mirror.

The secret source added, “He’s also extremely fair, so when I say ‘hard ass,’ don’t think he’s just gonna be a dick or unnecessarily tough.”

Rachel Stoltzfoos, a senior reporter for The Daily Caller News Foundation, will become Managing Editor at the Foundation. Stoltzfoos began at the Foundation in 2014 as a politics reporter, and “in three short years has demonstrated clear dedication and an initiative to lead.”

Daily Caller Publisher Neil Patel had a few things to say about the changes.

“Nobody has been more crucial to our success than Vince Coglianese,” he said. “We are proud of all that Vince has  accomplished and happy he’s still on the team,” he said in a release. “Geoff Ingersoll is a Marine, a teacher, an unstopping worker and a natural leader. In his role as Managing Editor, Geoff has been instrumental in the incredible growth at The Daily Caller News Foundation. We can’t think of a single person better suited to lead The Daily Caller in the coming months and years.”
