The first trailer for the upcoming Lyndon B. Johnson biopic “LBJ” was released late Thursday.

The plot of the film, according to IMDB, is, “The story of U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson from his young days in West Texas to the White House.”

The trailer starts off at a pretty mild pace and isn’t too serious, but ultimately takes a dark turn when it arrives at the part when President John F. Kennedy was struck down by gunman Lee Harvey Oswald.

Judging from the trailer it appears the majority of the film will focus on Johnson’s life after that fateful day November 22, 2963.

Johnson is portrayed by legendary actor Woody Harrelson, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan, Richard Jenkins and C. Thomas Howell also are all in the cast.

The film is currently scheduled to be released November 3.

Historical films always seem to do well at the box office, and it’s hard to imagine this one won’t have some level of success given the fact the Kennedy assassination is one of the most tragic moments in American history.
