Lester Gene Liston Jr., a former linebacker for the Scarlet Knights, has been charged with first degree murder.

He is accused of killing James Dunn and injuring another woman. Lister is being charged with first-degree murder, felony firearm, possession with intent to deliver less than 50 grams of cocaine, and careless discharge of a firearm causing injury or death, according to the New York Post. Police have said that this could have been the result of another killing, and could have even been a revenge kill.

Liston transferred to Northern Michigan after he was dismissed from Rutgers in 2015. He violated academic rules and was not getting along with his coaches. According to the New York Post, he left the team because he was going to be a father and needed to be closer to family. He is currently being held without bond.
