One person was killed and several others injured Friday in a stabbing attack in southern Finland, according to local authorities.

The central district in Turku, Finland was placed on lockdown after an attacker went on a rampage Friday, reports the Daily Mail. Eyewitness video shot from a nearby building shows people fleeing as cries of ‘Allahu Akbar’ are heard in the background:

Witnesses report seeing at least one person lying motionless on the ground in the city center’s market square. At least two more people have been injured, according to Finland’s national broadcaster Yle.

Police in Tuku confirmed they shot and apprehended one suspect, reports Yle. Initial reports indicated that there were multiple attackers, but police have not confirmed if that is the case.

The incident comes just one day after jihadist terrorists used a rental van to mow down crowds of pedestrians in Barcelona, Spain, killing 14 and injuring more than 100 others.
