Some say Al Franken’s comedy days are over. I say they’ve just begun.

We’ve had an actor as president. We’ve had a president who became a reality star, followed directly by a reality star who became president. Why not just cut the crap and elect an outright comedian?

Amie Parnes and Devin Henry, The Hill:

Political associates of Al Franken say they think the Minnesota senator could be talked into running for the White House if he believes he’s the Democrat best positioned to defeat President Trump…

Michael Dale-Stein, a spokesman for Franken, says no one should expect a Franken 2020 presidential bid…

Franken’s celebrity status, progressive bona fides and sharp tongue have left many thinking he could be an effective candidate against Trump.

Well, the SNL sketches will be good. He can just play himself.

If you don’t think this can happen, if it seems too ridiculous to even contemplate, I’ve just got two words for you:

President. Trump.
