Some members of the transgender community disapprove of Caitlyn Jenner’s support for Donald Trump, and one of them went after her for it over the weekend.
Jenner attended a performance of the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles Saturday night where she was ambushed for voting for and supporting Donald Trump by Wear Your Voice editor-in-chief Ashlee Marie Preston, The Wrap reports.
“It’s really f**ked up that you are here,” Preston told Jenner. “Some people may be afraid to confront you for being here, but I am not. You are directly responsible for what has happened with transgender soldiers and the military. I am not afraid to say it to you, I am not. I am not afraid.”
Many members of the transgender community were disappointed with Jenner’s support of the president, but the former Olympian and reality television star expressed her own disappointment in Trump over the transgender military ban. However, surprised by Preston’s ambush, Jenner remained mostly silent during her tirade.
“It’s really f**ked up you continue to support somebody that tears us down,” Preston shouted at Jenner. “Nobody wants you here . . . it’s really ridiculous,” she continued. “You’re a f**king fraud.”
Eventually another nearby attendee stepped in to cool Preston down, but she let her have it too.
“We are complicit. Taking her money and doing all that, it makes us complicit,” Preston replied. “It goes against the mission.”
Jenner finally gave up on reasoning with the woman and decided to walk away as Preston continued shouting expletives at her.
