Texas Governor Greg Abbott is giving the Trump administration an “A+” for its response to Hurricane Harvey.

Abbott said during a Monday press conference that he has been in contact with the federal government every single day since before the storm even hit Texas.

“The state of Texas has been dealing with the federal government for about seven to 10 days, at least, before the hurricane hit on a daily basis,” Abbott explained. “I’ve spoken with the president on multiple occasions, with his Cabinet members…and I would have to grade the federal government’s response as an A+.”

“This is, if not the largest, it has to be categorized as one of the largest disasters America has ever faced,” Abbott said. “And to see the swift response from the federal government is pretty much unparalleled.”

“We are grateful for what has happened so far but know that we are still early in the process. We need to maintain this.”

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will visit Texas on Tuesday, but are planning to stay outside of Houston so that they don’t provide a major distraction to rescue efforts.
