Fox News will no longer air in the United Kingdom as of Tuesday afternoon, 21st Century Fox has announced.
“21st Century Fox has decided to cease providing a feed of Fox News Channel in the U.K.,” Fox News said in a statement to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Fox News has some major competition in the U.K., like British-based news organizations BBC and ITV, but has continued to dominate ratings in the U.S.
“Fox News is focused on the U.S. market and designed for a U.S. audience and, accordingly, it averages only a few thousand viewers across the day in the U.K.,” they continued in their statement.
The announcement comes as Fox News finished August as the most-watched channel on basic cable, continuing to be the most watched in the U.S. for the 14th consecutive month in a row.
The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Fox News about the specifics of the matter but did not receive a response in time for publication.
