The Republican National Committee’s (RNC) chief of staff quit after seven months at the job to accept a position with the U.S Chamber of Commerce, the commerce announced Thursday.

Sara Armstrong, the now former chief of staff, took a position as the vice president of political affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Politico reports.

“It’s been an honor to have served at the RNC and I’m forever thankful to have worked with so many top-notch professionals,” Armstrong said in a statement. “The RNC is in a strong position thanks to record fundraising and I’m confident they will be successful moving forward as they work to support the White House and elect Republicans up-and-down the ballot.”

Armstrong previously served in the George W. Bush administration as the former director of the White House’s Visitor Office. While working at the RNC, Armstrong worked as the chief executive of Trump’s inauguration committee and helped the committee transition from Reince Priebus, the former chairman, to the committee’s current one.

Armstrong’s departure marks the sixth RNC staffer to leave in the past month, since some aides left the committee as part of a departmental change among the higher ups in the committee’s data department. The chief data officer, Jesse Kamzol, left in July, while other staffers, like deputy chief data officer Liam O’Rourke and the director of political data support Ashley Burns, left recently as well.

Two sources close to the situation told CNN that Richard Walters, the RNC’s finance director, will act as the current chief of staff as the committee searches for a full time chief of staff.
