Former GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz blasted former President Barack Obama for using executive action to implement DACA, arguing, “that’s not the way this country works.”

The “Fox & Friends” crew were discussing reports that President Donald Trump is planning to end the immigration order that protects children brought to the United States illegally from deportation and offers them work permits.

Cohost Clayton Morris suggested it might be unfair to DACA recipients to get rid of their protections, as the Obama administration encouraged them to make themselves known to the government.

“We’re a nation of laws and that’s the way it works in this country,” Chaffetz asserted. “President Obama did a great disservice along the way: first of all, the Democrats had the House, Senate, and presidency and did nothing on this issue.”

“You can’t just change the immigration law through executive order, that’s not the way this country works,” Chaffetz said.
