Joy Behar cracked a rude joke about President Donald Trump only liking immigrants that he gets to marry, and the audience let her know it was a step too far.
“But to the point he [Trump] cares about immigrants, last week he pardoned an immigrant hater basher Sheriff [Joe] Arpaio,” the co-host told the panel Wednesday during a discussion about the administration’s plans to roll back the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. “So don’t tell me,” she added. “The only immigrants he loves are the ones he can marry, if you want my opinion.”
The audience didn’t laugh and went totally silent, some moaning can even be heard.
Behar realized she went too far and quickly apologizes. If the audience’s reaction didn’t tell her, the expression on the faces of the other co-hosts also probably helped seal the deal.
“Oh..I’m sorry,” Behar explained. “That went too far I guess.”
Later, it was Whoopi Goldberg’s turn to attack the president suggesting that by him telling Congress they need to do their job and act on the “dreamers” program meant “he has no balls.”
“Let’s get the guy who’s supposed to be doing the job, to do decide what’s going to happen,” Goldberg said. “He has no balls. He has no balls. I’m sorry, because I mean I’m getting tired of him throwing [Barack] Obama in. Obama is not the president. Mrs. [Hillary] Clinton didn’t become president. That’s your job.”
