Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s post-election party was like a funeral procession but with glitz and glam, according to excerpts from her new memoir “What Happened.”

“There was a fantastic band — some of the same musicians who played at Chelsea and Marc’s wedding in 2010 — and the dance floor was packed,” Clinton wrote in her book, which attempts to explain some of the pitfalls that beguiled her presidential campaign.

The afterparty wasn’t all fun and games, however. It was a somber affair commemorating a presidential election loss that sent Clinton and the media reeling.

“It felt a little like an Irish wake: celebration amid the sadness,” Clinton wrote. “Let it never be said that the Hillary for America staff didn’t stick together when it counted. To help matters, there was an open bar.”

Clinton also pinned some of the blame for her loss to President Donald Trump on the media.

“I tend to treat journalists with caution, and I often feel like they focus too much on the wrong things,” Clinton wrote.
