You Won’t Believe What Christian Bale Looks Like These Days

It was pretty hard to recognize Christian Bale at the Toronto Film Festival this week.

The actor – who famously shape shifts for his characters – has gained a considerable amount of weight for his upcoming role as Dick Cheney.

In 2004, Bale lost 65 lbs for his role in The Machinist. He’s also bulked up for his roles in Batman and American Psycho.

So I guess I shouldn’t have been shocked when he showed up to the Toronto Film Fest looking like a Winnie the Pooh accountant who rocks Tevas on the weekend and barely sees the sun.

But I was. I was still shocked, and I couldn’t stop laughing. This guy was Batman, and this is him now? I get it. Actors gain and lose weight for movies all the time. Tom Hanks famously did it for years. But to see Bruce Wayne do it in the blink of an eye is too much. I had to know how he did it without anybody noticing until now.

Somebody else must have had the same question because he was asked this week:

Pies. What a savage. He’s not messing around with MRE’s or high calorie infant food. The dude is literally just binging on peach cobbler and pumpkin pie at night. Look at that smile on his face as he reveals his diet trick. What a guy. It makes me want to shake his hand. Christian Bale is clearly living his best life.

And he certainly seems a lot happier than back in 2009.

I mean what a difference. Don’t tell me that’s the same person. He sounds hungry and pie-less there.

And some people might say he looks awful now and it’s such a waste but I’m team chubby Christian all the way. I hope he eats more pies. It’s clearly working out for him.
