This week at a Red Sox game four fans decided to hang a banner that read “Racism Is As American As Baseball”.  The banner hung for all of one inning before the fans were thrown out of the game.

Red Sox legend David Ortiz told TMZ how he felt about the baseball fans hanging the poster over the green monster. Big Papi said, “You don’t wanna add more s**t to the s**t that is already out there.”

Ortiz also said that he did not think it matters what side you are on with the issue, baseball is not the place to make a political statement.

When fans come to a baseball game to get away from everything else going on in the world, they aren’t there to see what people want to protest about. They are there to enjoy America’s favorite game and Ortiz is right when he says a baseball game is not the place for a political statement.
