Lane Kiffin pulled a classy bro move Friday to thank the University of Wisconsin for helping his Florida Atlantic University team during Hurricane Irma.

FAU lost to the Badgers last Saturday, and the team had to stick around in Madison a few extra days because Irma was wreaking havoc on Florida.

Kiffin clearly appreciated the gesture from the Wisconsin athletic department. He took out a full page ad in the Wisconsin State Journal to thank the program.

He wrote the following:

Thank You! You have opened your hearts to our football program for the past six days in our time of need. Every single person on campus and in the community was kind and courteous. The Badger Football Team even shared their home with us and made our stay as comfortable as possible. We are forever indebted to the Wisconsin Athletic Department, Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and Head Coach Paul Chryst for their collective generosity. We wish you nothing but the best of luck with the rest of your football season. ON WISCONSIN!

There are plenty of reasons to criticize Kiffin, but this is an extremely classy thing to do for an opponent. Maybe the former USC head coach is finally starting to signal he’s getting a lot more serious about football and ending his off-the-field criticism.
