Meghan McCain is saying goodbye to Fox News.

She went to work for the network in the summer of 2015.

Variety’s Senior TV Editor Brian Steinberg broke the news of McCain leaving FNC’s “Outnumbered,” the sassy show that features four female panelists and one lone dude.

Fox News and McCain exchanged niceties.

“I’m so thankful to @FoxNews for the chance to be on @OutnumberedFNC but I’m leaving to focus on other things,” she wrote on Twitter. “I have no doubt the show will continue to do well and wish all my friends and colleagues at the network nothing but success.”

Fox News issued a brief statement: “Meghan has been a valuable part of Outnumbered and the FOX News team. We’re sad to see her go, but we wish her all the best.”

The whys of the situation appear to be obvious.

Meghan’s father, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy. On CNN last weekend, McCain told Jake Tapper that his prognosis looked good. Tapper, meanwhile, asked McCain how he most wanted to be remembered.

Meghan got a ton of warm reaction to the news from Fox News coworkers on Twitter.

“Going to miss u so much in the building,” wrote FNC anchor Abby Huntsman. “A new life chapter. You’re an amazing daughter & friend.”

“Hey @MeghanMcCain I adore you,” wrote Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean.

“I’ll miss working with you on air, @MeghanMcCain,” wrote FNC Contributor Guy Benson.

Over on Instagram, McCain wrote a thank you note to FNC’s Kat Timpf.

“This one has called me every single day since my dad’s diagnosis – ride or die,” she wrote. “Love you forever.”
