This week’s twentysomething English teacher busted for allegedly traumatizing a male teen student with sex romps is Rachel Marie Gillespie.
Gillespie, 26, was a teacher — until just recently — at Jennings High School in the small town of Jennings, Louisiana, reports local CBS affiliate KLFY-TV.
Unspecified conflicts of interest have forced both the local district attorney and the local district judge to recuse themselves from the criminal case pending against Gillespie.
Louisiana’s Supreme Court has had to spend its valuable time appointing the state’s attorney general and a special judge to handle the allegations of sexual activity between a male teen and a 26-year-old female teacher, reports local ABC affiliate KATC-TV.
Sheriff’s deputies in Jefferson Davis Parish started an investigation into Gillespie’s alleged sex antics in late August after a tipster from the local school board complained.
Details related to the allegations of an improper relationship remain scant, but investigators say they were able to gather enough information to arrest Gillespie early this month.
The exact age of the male teen involved in the allegations has not been reported.
The criminal charge against Gillespie is indecent behavior with a juvenile.
After her release, Gillespie was released on a $25,000 bond.
Gillespie was Rachel Marie Bourne until the summer of 2015 when she married Eric Cade Gillespie at a ceremony at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, reports the Daily Mail.
Gillespie’s current marital status is unclear.
Though it’s no Alabama, Louisiana is something of a hotbed for teacher sex stories.
The Bayou State’s most notable story involved a pair of blonde, small-town English teachers who were arrested for having an epic, nine-hour threesome with the same then-16-year-old high school football player. That cased involved — and continues to involve — a teacher’s fictitious “Madison Mexicano” Facebook account, lewd video captured by the male teen, a big fight outside a sports bar and a lawsuit by the parents of the traumatized male student.
