MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said President Donald Trump’s leadership methods are “chilling” and “unsafe” on “Morning Joe” Monday.
Washington Post political reporter Bob Costa said Trump is testing his base to see if they are driven by “ideology or by grievance,” a statement that set Brzezinski off.
“So testing or feeding right wing platforms with the power of the presidency. That’s fantastic! That’s not safe,” she said. “I’m just telling you. Just because you can figure it out doesn’t mean it’s okay. It’s actually chilling. It’s chilling! Does anyone disagree?”
Her words were met with silence by the other panelists until her co-host Joe Scarborough awkwardly looked up from his notes to disagree with her.
“It’s not right wing. This is not about right wing. This is about tribalism. This is about grievance. He [Trump] feeds the grievance, he feeds the tribalism it gives him the political space to work with Democrats on DACA,” Scarborough said.
