CNN host Jake Tapper believes Hillary Clinton’s “What Happened?” book tour and her recent surge of interviews may end up hurting the Democratic party.

Tapper explained on his show Monday that he thinks Clinton has every right participate in interviews and attract press attention, but added that it diverts attention from the next generation of Democratic leaders.

“It mean less attention for the Kamala Harrises, the Al Frankens, and the Corey Bookers of the world,” Jake Tapper said.

Former White House communications director for Barack Obama and CNN contributor Jennifer Psaki weighed in as well.

“It really distracts from Democrats trying to rebuild the party,” Psaki said. “Does it help the Democratic Party? No.”

Psaki noted that Hillary’s recent comments that she would not “rule out” challenging the 2016 election results are particularly distracting. (RELATED: Hillary Clinton Will Not Rule Out ‘Questioning The Legitimacy’ Of The 2016 Election)

“Because people are going to be talking about whether we should relitigate the election. That’s not a good place for us to be,” she concluded.
