Sen. John McCain saluted MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in a recorded message Tuesday, congratulating the hosts on their 10-year anniversary with some bizarre comments.
“Well congratulations Joe and Mika. 10 years of fake news, and deceiving the American people. They’ve had remarkable success,” McCain said. “I’d like to congratulate you because you have deceived even me from time to time, and of course I’ve known Joe for a long time and how he has deceived people also.”
McCain called the Morning Joe co-hosts a “great American success story,” but said that he would like to avoid coming appearing on the show as a future guest.
“So I congratulate you on 10 years of information, of knowledge and making the American people aware of the challenges we face. You’re a great American success story. Congratulations, keep it up. I hope I’m not on your program soon,” the senator said.
As the cameras cut back to the studio, Scarborough said, “And that’s why we love him.”
