Two women sued a famous cookie dough shop Thursday in Manhattan after getting stomach pains from eating the shop’s sweet treats.

The women complained of stomach pains, nausea and heartburn after eating ice cream treats at Cookie Dō, a popular Greenwich Village-based cookie dough shop. The lawsuit alleges consuming raw cookie dough products could cause food-borne illness, reported BloombergPursuits.

Julia Canigiani and Katherine Byrne, both students from Manhattan College, filed in the Manhattan federal court, reported Eater New York. No specific damages are cited in the lawsuit.

The company’s website claims there is “No chance of food-borne illness or the risk that comes along with eating raw flour products.” The cookie dough used at the shop is made from pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour.

“At last, worry-free treats you can’t get sick from!” The company claims. A popular tourist attraction, Cookie Dō has over 180,000 followers on social media.

We are “behind the safety of our products and our representations about our products. We will fully and faithfully defend ourselves against any and all false accusations,” Cookie Dō said in a statement Friday.
