It seems like every young millennial these days owns a JUUL, the new e-cigarette from Pax Labs.

The JUUL runs on JUULpods, tiny containers filled with proprietary fluid concoctions straight from the heart of Pax Labs’ California headquarters.

Each JUULpod contains 0.7mL fluid with 5 percent nicotine by weight, according to the JUUL website. Pax Labs currently offers five different flavors of JUULpods on their website: mango, cool mint, Virginia tobacco, fruit medley and creme brulee.

After three months of owning my own JUUL, I’ve come to the conclusion that each flavor of pod varies widely in both taste and efficacy. Some pods barely hit, others hit like a truck. Some just taste awful.

So without further ado, here are the official Daily Vaper JUULpod power rankings:

1. Cool Mint

Mint is the best flavor and pod, hands down. While I struggle to get a good hit from other pods, the cool mint pods never let me down. Satisfying throat hits for days, and a flavor that never gets boring. I’ve noticed the mint pods tend to ‘leak’ a bit more than the others, but that may just be my bad luck.

2. Mango

Mango is the runner-up. Mango actually hits better than cool mint, but the flavor lacks the staying power of minty freshness. Unlike the other ‘sweet’ flavors, this one actually vaguely tastes like a mango. In any case, you can never go wrong with the M(int)&M(ango) combo.

3. Creme Brulee

Unlike the actual dessert, the creme brulee pod does not taste good, and it also hits worse than the above flavors. Unlike the next flavor though, it’s not straight up offensive to your gustatory desires. In any case, the sweetish flavor falls flat, and I rarely get good hits from a CB pod.

4. Fruit Medley

I’d rather huff paint than puff on this flavor. At least paint won’t make me gag.  I have no idea how someone could ruin the taste of fresh fruit, but Pax Labs succeeded. While others have told me the pod hits well, in my experience it’s the complete opposite. Just unsatisfying all around.

WILDCARD: Virginia Tobacco

Yesterday I discussed with some fellow vapelords that the only people who like tobacco flavored liquid are former cigarette smokers. As a former smoker, I have to agree. While I for one love the taste of a good cancer-stick, non-smokers are absolutely disgusted by this flavor. As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.
