This week’s Alternative Facts takes a look at the national media’s reaction President Donald Trump’s Tuesday speech at the U.N. General Assembly, the politicization of late night comedy, and the media treatment of Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.

The president’s focus on “sovereignty” led many journalists to compare his rhetoric to that of authoritarian dictatorships like Russia or China, who use the same concept to justify a lack of human rights in their respective countries.

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel similarly represents a broader trend of the politicization of many cultural spaces, like sports, TV award shows, and comedy.

Finally, the show discusses Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s past controversial statements and the disdainful attitude many journalists appear to have towards voters.
