The national anthem protest, which had just about died down this season, made a resurgence this weekend in the wake of Donald Trump’s comments at a rally in Alabama where he said any player who kneels for the national anthem should be fired. On Sunday, nearly 200 players across the NFL sat or kneeled during the national anthem, but that was not the case on Monday night in Arizona.

The Dallas Cowboys, including team owner Jerry Jones, linked arms and kneeled before the anthem, drawing some boos from the crowd. However, the team stood before the anthem began and remained linked together with their arms. The Arizona Cardinals also stood and linked arms, some of them joining up with members of the military on the field.

The two teams each displayed a statement of unity in contrast to many who could not make a unified decision as to what to do for the national anthem on Sunday.
