Officials arrested an 18-year-old man Monday after he stole his uncle’s cop uniform and patrol car in Ocala, Fla.

Isael Ibrain Lima faces charges for impersonating a police officer, grand theft auto, and other related counts from his joyride around town, reported the Associated Press.

Lima’s joyride consisted of pulling over a driver for speeding and reporting a disturbance at a convenience store, the Ocala Star-Banner reported.

He apparently did all this to impress his girlfriend.

“I don’t think this man realized the danger he put himself in by trying to impersonate a deputy sheriff,” Robert Douglas, the county’s Chief Deputy, said in a press release.

The teen even faces charges for open carrying a prohibited weapon, according to the local newspapers.

Lima’s uncle, Yoandy Miranda, a sheriff’s deputy for Marion County, was out of town when Lima –who lives with his uncle — broke into his uncle’s locked bedroom and stole the police equipment.

Lima is currently in the Marion County jail with no bond, noted The AP.
